What Should I Expect When My Child Is Getting a Tooth Crown?

The procedure for getting dental caps for kids is the same as for an adult. You'll need at least two office visits, and it's a three-step procedure. During your first visit, the dentist will examine the tooth to determine the extent of work that's needed. Then, they'll take an impression of the tooth, which will be used to fabricate the permanent crown. Finally, we'll install a temporary crown for your child to use until the permanent crown arrives. The temporary crown is necessary to protect the tooth exterior and keep bacteria from entering any cracks or crevices that may exist.
